Fat Injections

Fat injections or autologous fat transplantation can be a suitable technique for the face and body. The fat is usually aspirated from the patient’s abdominal wall or around the knees. The aspirated fat is centrifuged, condensed, and re-introduced at different sites to even out skin depressions.

Fat injections have been used in facelifts (rhytidectomy) to address the nasolabial folds. Fat injections have also been used to add volume to the upper lips. Fat injections can be used to treat depressed scars and to address asymmetry or irregularities after liposuction.
